According to local news outlets, Kimberly-Clark has already begun deciding which plants will be impacted by its global restructuring plan. Several media sources in the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin, are reporting that the Dallas, TX-based company will shut down its Neenah Nonwovens facility in Neenah, WI and its Cold Spring plant in nearby Fox Crossing.

The closures will impact a little over 600 employees.

Last month, the maker of Huggies diapers and Depend adult incontinence items announced a plan to cut as many as 5500 jobs and to close 10 plants globally. The job cuts represent about 12% to 13% of the company’s workforce.

The Neenah plant will be shut down within the next 18 months, but the timing of the Cold Spring plant closure hasn’t yet been determined.

K-C, which has its roots in the region, is the third-largest employer, with about 3200 workers in Fox Valley. In addition to the soon-to-be-shutttered sites, K-C has its Consumer Products World Headquarters in Neenah and has a 225-employee site in Marinette, WI. The company has not said if these two operations will be affected.
